For this project I created a full design scheme for this newly renovated 3 bedroomed holiday rental on Whitby’s scenic harbour front. This client is based in Spain, so this project was managed remotely. I purchased and looked after the logistics, budget and timeline for all items, managed the install with my staging team and styled the finished house for photography by the team at Host and Stay ready to go live – all in one week. And bookings were received within 48 hours!
As all the windows at the front of the cottage face Whitby Harbour, this added to the feeling of calm I wanted guests to feel when they stayed here. I added subtle stripes in the accessories throughout the cottage, giving a nod to deckchairs along Whitby beach front. I chose humorous seaside inspired art to liven up the walls in the master bedroom.
In the other bedrooms, pops of blue and green were used as shades of the sea, these blocks of colour worked well against the stripes in the light shades. The scheme in this house needed to appeal to families, groups of friends and couples. I was keen to get as much colour and pattern in the scheme as I could. The client was delighted with the result.
