Nigel Holmes
Lytham St Annes
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Location: Lytham St Annes
Scope: Menswear Retailer
Timescale: 8 Months
The brief for this designer menswear retailer was all about preserving heritage. The store has been trading for 50 years and under a new management team, the client wanted to highlight the authority they have in the designer menswear space whilst attracting a younger audience,
A first for the colour brave studio but we rose to the challenge to complete our first commercial project. The lease had been taken over for the store next door to the original unit, with plans to knock through to double its size. We wanted to achieve a premium feel and I created the Crafted House scheme. A refined concept that blends warm walnut finishes and rich leather upholstery with raw industrial lighting and metal detailing. The result is a confident, tactile space that feels both luxurious and contemporary. Where craftsmanship and character meet, creating a memorable customer experience right in the heart of Lytham, Lancashire.
We opted for a walnut paneled walls, a neutral sisal-style carpet, industrial lighting and key clamp wall and floor fixtures. To prevent unnecessary waste, we powder coated the original wall fixtures and reused them, these mixed in perfectly. To make this store truly unique, we commissioned the design of a bespoke collage style wallpaper using brand images, products and a scan of the original newspaper supplement from when the store originally opened in Lytham in 1972. There is a lot of woodwork in this store and the craftsmanship is incredible. Shout out again to the incredibly talented Dan Moore of Moore Homes and his team of super craftsman. This was a great team effort, the client is delighted and the tills are ringing loudly!
